Acceptable Pre-Requisites

I get a lot of questions about whether or not pre-requisites are acceptable if they are taken online or at community colleges.

Pacific's policy is to accept pre-req courses from any accredited college or university: Including community colleges and online courses.  That said, community college and online courses are not always as competitive as courses taken at a 4-year college or university, so it is important you do really well (3.6 GPA or higher) in any courses taken online or outside of a 4 year college or university and that you take a full load of sciences (two or more per term) in order to demonstrate your ability to handle strong science loads.

Also, don't forget that we do require labs for all science courses, even if they are taken online!

P.S.  Does anyone else find it weird that you can take a lab for an online course like anatomy?  I do.

  1. Thanks for the info Janelle! I will be taking an online class this summer so this issue has been in the back of my mind lately. Glad to hear that I shouldn't have any problems.
